GfE Doktorandenpreis / Dissertation award

Neben den beiden Wissenschaftspreisen schreibt die Gesellschaft für Entwicklungsbiologie (GfE) ebenfalls den GfE-Doktorandenpreis für das Jahr 2024 aus. Auf den mit 1000,- Euro dotierten Preis können sich Wissenschaftler/innen mit herausragenden Promotionsarbeiten aus den Jahren 2022/2023 aus allen Gebieten der Entwicklungsbiologie bewerben.

Die Bewerbung soll bis spätestens 2. Februar 2022 bei dem Vorsitzenden der Gesellschaft

in digitaler Form (PDF/doc) eingehen und folgende Unterlagen enthalten:

     • Zusammenfassung der Doktorarbeit, einschließlich einer Erklärung zu den Beiträgen der Ergebnisse auf dem Gebiet der Entwicklungsbiologie (max. 1 Seite)
     • Liste der Veröffentlichungen
     • Lebenslauf
     • Kopie der Promotionsurkunde

Interessierte Bewerber/innen (GfE-Mitglieder, Möglichkeit zum Beitritt hier: https://www.vbio.de/gfe-entwicklungsbiologie/mitgliedschaft-membership/) können sich mit ihren Arbeiten direkt bewerben. Gutachten von Betreuern der Doktorarbeit sind willkommen. Der Preisträger/die Preisträgerin wird durch eine zu diesem Anlass eingesetzten Jury ausgewählt, die aus dem aktuellen Vorstand, sowie den Vorsitzenden der letzten drei Vorstände, eventuell unter Zuziehung von Experten, gebildet wird. Als Auswahlkriterium gilt der substantielle Beitrag der Forschung zum Fortschritt auf dem Gebiet der Entwicklungsbiologie. Die Bewertung der eingereichten Bewerbungen geschieht unter Ausschluss des Rechtsweges. Die Preisgelder sind nicht-zweckgebunden. Die Verleihung des Doktorandenpreises erfolgt anlässlich der wissenschaftlichen Tagung der Gesellschaft (12.-15.3.2024) in Osnabrück. Dort wird der Preisträgerin bzw. dem Preisträger die Möglichkeit geboten, ihre/seine Arbeit in einem Kurzvortrag vorzustellen.

GfE Dissertation Award 2024
 
The German Society for Developmental Biology (GfE) is announcing the GfE Dissertation Award for the year 2024. The award is in the amount of Euro 1.000 and scientists with outstanding doctoral theses from all areas of developmental biology and who have completed in the years 2022/2023 are invited to apply.
 
Application should be submitted until February, 2nd 2024 to the chair of the society

and include the following documents:
     • a description of your PhD work, including a statement about the contributions of your findings to the field of developmental biology (max. 1 page)
     • Publication list
     • Curriculum vitae
     • copy of your PhD certificate
 
Interested candidates (members of the GfE - if not, become a member here: https://www.vbio.de/gfe-entwicklungsbiologie/mitgliedschaft-membership/) can submit their applications directly. Letters of recommendation from the doctoral advisors will be appreciated. The prizewinner is selected by a jury appointed for the occasion, which consists of the current Executive Board and the chairmen of the last three Executive Boards, possibly with the involvement of experts. The selection criterion is the substantial contribution of the research to the field of developmental biology. The evaluation of the submitted applications is carried out without recourse to legal action. The prize money is not earmarked for a specific purpose.The award will be presented on the occasion of the "GfE-DSDB Joint Meeting" (12 - 15 March 2024) in Osnabrück. The awardee will have the opportunity to present her/his work in a short talk.
